Vacation: Back from the beach!

We had a kind of impromptu vacation. My son and his wife, spending a week at the beach, asked the hubby and I to come down and spend a few days with them. They rented the top apartment of a beach house and had plenty of room...so... off we went! We had lots of fun, ate way too much food that's on my no-no list (but it was a vacation!) and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our son and daughter in law. Nice to spend time with your kids when they're grown... it's a different kind of relationship at that stage of life.

I'm posting a few pics. The surfer in the pics is my son, Philip. The last pic is Philip and Rhonda, our DIL, although we claim her as a daughter :-)

Hi Simone,

It's Carolina Beach, NC... good place to gather photo references for possible paintings!

I was going to ask the same question, wondering what beach you went to. Carolina Beach does look beautiful. I bet you did get lots of good reference shots!

Teresa, this sounds like such fun. The place is beautiful! Your son and your "daughter" are beautiful, too! That beach is especially appealing to me today. It's over 100 degrees.

How wonderful to have such a fabulous few days! We are in the midst of a heat wave here in Ottawa Canada so that water looks most inviting. Heck, the idea of lots of no-no food sounds great too! :-) Glad you had such a special time.

What fun photos! I'm glad that you had a nice visit to the beach and with family. It is so fun to see the photos of your family too!

P.S. The walk to the beach looks a bit like my page that I did in Laure Ferlita's Beach class.

Beautiful photos, Teresa. People hate to hear this, but, I have to say, it looks just like Jersey! :-)
I agree, it is nice spenf=ding time with grown kids; in fact, my favorite age for kids is 21+.
Along with the eating, did you paint?
