Update on mini mural

Acrylic on wood. 19.75" x 35.75"

A quick update on the mini mural. I've been languishing in the "sick bay" for most of this past week, hence the lack of activity on my blog (if you've left a comment - thanks! - and I'm catching up with replies as fast as a dial up connection will permit!). Thank goodness I'm back up to speed and happy to be working (which feels more like playing when making art).

I did manage to get a little more work done on the mural at the end of the week, so I'm posting WIP #2. This is a commission piece. The pattern comes from a wallpaper border and I'm matching fairly closely the design, colors and style of painting (which is what I'd call decorative painting).

I wondered if you were iced in or snowed in or some such. Sorry to hear you've been ill. No fun, but you seem to be making up for it in quick time!

Looks like you've got an excellent start - looking forward to the finish!

I like how bright the colors are even though they're neutral--how do you do that? :-)

Thank you all for the get well wishes and kind comments. It feels good to feel good... makes me want to belt out the James Brown song!

Snowed in? No such luck! I wish ;-)

Yes, Hollie has seen the mural. She stopped by last night and saw it while it was at WIP #3 stage (which I'm going to post in a few minutes). She seemed pleased with it. I'll be pleased to get my kitchen table back (this thing is way too big and heavy for my drawing desk) and to get back to my colored pencils!
